DISCOVER THE MUSIC WITH US

Our team of teachers are honoured to make music with thousands of young people every week both in and out of school time. Based across Southampton, Hampshire & the New Forest, we visit over 20 schools providing a reliable service, consistency and above all, happiness and inspiration with our modern approach. Over 700 local children learn to play and sing with us as part of our instrumental, theory and vocal lesson programme every week.   Whole classes are taught using our immersive scheme of work ‘Discover the Music’ which is presented in the form of an interactive website that we have created. Our curriculum is centred around playing instruments and singing while meeting the key expectations of the National Curriculum. Our passion for music is infectious and our aim is to inspire as many children as possible through an engaging curriculum and extra-curricular provision.

“Music is a strength, and pupils are hugely enthusiastic about their recent Rock Challenge success”

EXTRA-CURRICULAR & PERFORMANCE

A large number of pupils from across our schools and the wider community take part as members of our ensemble programme which takes place weekly in Southampton. We feel it is really important to give our pupils as many opportunities to perform both in and out of school as possible to support in their development as musicians and singers.

Exclusive to schools we offer a fun clubs programme including our drumming academy, ‘Hear Our Voice’ choir and other bespoke opportunities such as music production, song writing and more.

“The quality of teaching and learning of music is a strength of the school ”

SAFEGUARDING

Our commitment to Safeguarding children is our highest priority. We understand this commitment and we have a team of highly trained Designated Safeguarding Lead Officers who oversee this commitment daily. Our entire team are trained each year and are required to complete regular tasks to reinforce their knowledge, understanding and strict adherence throughout the year.

Our safer recruitment commitment ensures that all adults aged 18 and over who work or volunteer for Discover the Music Ltd are put through a strict and enhanced background checking process.

We have an open door culture of safeguarding where all of our team members and volunteers know and feel that they are able to share and report concerns, no matter how small they may seem. All personnel are trained to support them in fulfilling our safeguarding commitment.

We take pride in our partnership with schools. Building a well working relationship with senior leaders and safeguarding teams has enabled us to work well together when managing concerns and ensuring that children receive the appropriate support they may need.

You can find out more by visiting our SAFEGUARDING page or by contacting us (below) to see a copy of our Safeguarding Policy.
